My Most Anticipated TV Shows Premiering On 2017

New year, new shows!

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

This is probably what I am most looking forward to for this year. A Series of Unfortunate Events was the first book series that I ever finished, it’s one of those books that got me into reading. To add on top of that, Neil Patrick Harris is playing Count Olaf?!

Starts airing January 13, 2017.

Legion

I am super excited to start watching this one! Dan Stevens stars as David Haller, a mutant son of Charles Xavier. I don’t know much about this part of the X-Men story but that doesn’t take away the excitement 🙂

Starts airing on February 8, 2017.

Riverdale

The CW has a knack for awesome TV shows. They’ve taken on Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and the DC shows! Riverdale gives off a somewhat darker Pretty Little Liars vibe. The characters are based on those from the Archie comic series. Starring K. J. Apa, Cole Sprouse and many more.

Starts airing on Jan 26, 2017.

Big Little Lies

I haven’t heard much about this series other than the fact that it was based on a book. I’ve seen the trailer and it doesn’t show much which I love. Starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and more.

Starts airing on February 19, 2017.

Marvel’s The Defenders

I still have to do some catching up on the Marvel shows up on Netflix before I watch this one. It is a miniseries that does a crossover between Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, along with Elektra. Starring Krysten Ritter, Charlie Cox, Mike Colter and many more.

Airing date TBA.

Marvel’s Iron Fist

Another addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Finn Jones (who you may know from Game of Thrones) stars as our Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist.

Starts airing on March 17, 2017.

I can’t wait for Iron Fist but I’m more excited for the Defenders because we get to see all the Netflix Marvel heroes on the same screen! I also am looking forward to a Series of Unfortunate Events as well.

The fact that Legion and The Defenders are only 8 episodes could be a benefit in contrast to Iron Fist. They might be able to bypass the muddled middle sections of Daredevil Season 2 and Luke Cage season 1 had. Also, it is interesting to see how FX handles a Marvel show.
